If we got Parakeets......
I bet Parakeets are cuckoo because they are very active and very chirpy! So I would not like to have Parakeets. Tiger & Buddy are mellow and calm, but again they can be very chirpy & very active at times! You just have to learn, they're still birds! Me too!

My English Budgies.....Buddy & Tiger
My English Budgies Tiger & Buddy are totally cute!
I really tried to put a picture on here, but It didn't work!
Buddy is a male, his body is blue and he has a cute lil yellow face.
Tiger is a male too,his body is yellow and turquoise and he has a cute lil yellow face too.
It took over 2 months to find Lynn (a budgie breeder)! We looked and looked and looked for a budgie breeder! And we found one! Thank Goodness!
I am just very happy we got them!

Should I clip my budgies wings?
Alot of people disagree to clipping their budgies wings. Then alot of other people want their budgies wings to be clipped. Then the people who disagree think that their budgie will crash into the floor without their wings.
They don't really crash into the floor! They glide down on the floor. We clipped our budgies wings because I have a dog and a 2 yr old lil sister. If Ryan (my lil sister) was bigger we wouldn't clip Tiger and Buddy's wings. We would let them fly as much as they wanted to. My dog is fine to take care of when we have Buddy and Tiger out. You can see my dog (Bailey) in the part "About Me",and you can see that she is not that big.
Whatever you choose, If you want to clip their wings or not. But if you have a 2 year lil sister or a lil brother your vet or you may have to clip their wings for safety reasons. Or whatever you choose!

The difference between English Budgies and Parakeets
In this picture it shows how different English Budgies and Parakeet are. The taller
and more bigger one is a
English Budgie. The smaller
one is a Parakeet.
English Budgies can live 5-10
years.Parakeets can live up to 20 years! Alot of people say
that their English Budgie lived longer than 5 to 10 years. That would be amazing if my English Budgies lived that long!

American Parakeets chirp alot every day and they are very active! English Budgies are mellow and calm, they chip occasionally every day. Male English Budgies can learn to talk very easily than Parakeets. I think that budgies or parakeets are great beginning birds If you are going to be a first time owner of a bird. If you are wondering, how can you tell between a Male or Female Budgie? A female has a brown cere (the cere is above the beak) And a male has a blue cere. So the English Budgie in the picture is a male.

Dangerous things that could harm or kill your Budgie
In your bathroom:
Alot of things could harm or kill your budgie in the bathroom like your toilet or your sink. Or your budgie may get into cleaning supplies or other chemicals in your bathroom.
Air fresheners and Candles:
Do not spray any air fresheners by your bird or Windex "glass cleaner" by your birds cage. Or any other sprays by your bird. And do not light any candles by your bird or your birds cage.
Your dog or cat:
It is never a good idea to let out your budgie and have your dog or cat out in the room unsupervised.
Ceiling Fans:
Your ceiling fan could seriously harm your budgie or even cause death to your budgie,so please turn off your ceiling fan. Period!
Plants:
Many kinds of plants could cause death to your budgie. If you need more information about what plants could cause death to your budgie, please look at these websites below:

Your feet could also harm your budgie too. One big step of your foot could injure your budgie very badly. So watch where your going!
In your kitchen:
Your kitchen could also harm your budgie. If you have a glass of water in your kitchen, your bird could easily drown in it. And if you are cooking, Please DO NOT let your budgie out of It's cage, your bird could accidentally land in your pot or pan your cooking in.
Electrical Cords:
Your bird could easily chew on electrical cords and die. So please put up any electrical cords by your birds cage and your bird.
There is many more dangers that could harm or even kill your budgie. So again please watch out and look out for your budgie.

Budgie Cages
If you are getting a new budgie or parakeet. I think you should get a "30 inch" wide cage like this one on the right. Budgies and Parakeets fly side to side. Budgies and Parakeets do not fly up and down like you think they do. Other birds do fly up and down but budgies and parakeets do not fly up and down.
The cage above is similar to our cage. I tried to put a stand picture on this post and It didn't show,so I would show it you but It didn't work. The stand that I was going to show you would work for the cage above, but if you have a lil sister or lil brother you could not get the stand. Because he/she could knock over the stand,I bet my lil sister would!
